What better place could there be in which to experience the freedom of naturism than a beautiful beach?

Visualise a clear blue sky, golden sand shimmering in the heat haze and blue sea lapping the shoreline. Imagine stepping out of your swimming costume, feeling a gentle breeze caressing your naked body, you run in to the warm sea swimming naked and unrestricted .

You are at one with nature.

Back on the beach you dry off in the warm breeze, free from a soggy costume, no more white flesh marrring a seamless suntan - just the wonderful exhilaration of warm sun and fresh air on your skin.

Once you have tasted these pleasures you are unlikely ever to want to wear clothes on a beach again!

OK, so days like these are all too rare in Britain. But when they do come around the NUFF's 'Naturist Beach Guide' will help you to find one of the many beaches around our coastline where nudity is traditionally "tolerated" or even, in some cases officially recognised.

The NUFF guide is not a definitive list of "free beaches" as naturist beaches are often called. Naturism is practised at many other secluded spots.

Unless stated otherwise, the beaches listed here 'tolerated' and not 'official' - therefore go naked with discretion and strictly at your own risk.

Naturist use of these beaches often depends upon mutual toleration and goodwill. Where traditional naturist beaches are (or have been) under threat, this is almost always a result of the behaviour of a small number of individuals. Remember- you shouldn't do anything on a naturist beach which would be unacceptable on a textile beach - except taking off all your clothes of course!

The List of Naturist Beaches

The list is divided into Regions, each of which covers several Counties:
